Relatives and new babies 😒

Has anyone else had rather distant relatives want to be nice and friendly since finding out you’re pregnant?

My grandmother on my dads side hasn’t talked to me for almost 2 years due to not liking my husband and political views- she’s been incredibly nasty to me and just wants nothing to do with me which is fine and dandy, she’s always been a bitter woman. Anyways, I started getting text from my dad and his girlfriend saying how I should try and reach out to her because “you know she’s excited about your baby”. I mulled it over and finally just texted her asking her how she was doing and so forth. She immediately starts asking me everything I need and how she’ll try and get stuff for her. I was really taken aback considering this woman wouldn’t even send me a text on my birthday! I’m very much welcoming her “snake” behavior since she’s offering to get me this and that and I feel she owes me as much for putting me on the back burner for some years.
