When can I poop normally again?

Question

I delivered vaginally on Friday (5 days ago) and ended up with 2nd degree tears+stitches. So far I've had one smallish bowel movement with the help of a stool softener and I planned on taking another today. Just wondering when I can stop being so scared and also when I can stop taking softeners😅

If you’re breastfeeding, keep using them. Breastfeeding can dehydrate you and make pooping terrible. I had terrible hemorrhoids when I was breastfeeding and it was absolute agony.

I’m 4 weeks PP and am still taking stool softeners :(. However I think this is largely because I haven’t been to the gym since I delivered and it’s causing issues. I had SEVERE hemmeroids when I delivered like the size of golf balls :(

I had 2 2nd degree tears and never took any. But if you're nervous just keep taking them. It's hard for me to say when it got better because i got over stitched so it always hurt until they cut me down there so I will say if it co tinues to hurt after a couple weeks to call your doctor.

I had a 4th degree tear and my Doctor recommended to take Colace for 6 weeks. I am 3 months pp and I still take them sometimes.

I'm 4 weeks pp and still hate having to go. I do think I popped a stitch because last week I started to bleed after I finally went. It stopped a few days after.  
All I can recommend is keep taking stool softeners and drink lots of water. Oh, and dont hold it in due to the fear of going. This will make you even more constipated and will be even more painful
