Advice please.

FTM, And I'm interested in pumping and bottle feeding my baby when he is born. Would it cause much confusion if I exclusively breast fed when he is first born or can I just go ahead and start alternating breast and bottle? So confused and I don't have anyone to ask for advice nobody in my family ever tried breast feeding... What I'd like to do is pump day,and breast at night but if not possible I can pump exclusively..
