Is a nursery really necessary?

Nah. Our babies coslept in their crib next to our bed for the first 8 months. Their room was basically storage for clothes and diapers and we didnt paint any walls. Babies dont care what color or decor is in their room 🤷🏽‍♀️
It's a lotta work and hype and unnecessary imo

I would say that it’s not completely necessary right away. We really didn’t start utilizing the nursery until we started sleep training at 6 months. Before that we never used it unless we were changing his diaper or clothes.

YES! 
A baby needs their own room, their own bed, etc. I started working on my nursery immediately . Plus it’s fun to create and design. But that’s just my personal opinion.

Depends on how much space you have and how it’s set up. 
We moved from a one-bedroom apartment to a two-bedroom so we’d have space for a nursery/guest room. Baby will sleep in a bassinet in our room for about 6 months, but it’s been so nice to have a dedicated space for baby stuff. There’s a daybed in her room for guests, but the fact that she has her own closet and space for her dresser and the glider—I would have had a hard to fitting all that in our bedroom or living room. 
If you have a large master bedroom and lots of extra space in your closet, you might find you don’t need one at all, though.

If you can do it? I would. Baby stuff takes up a lot of space... the clothes alone is enough for me to be sold. I like having a dedicated room in the house for baby time. After birth? Sure moms vary on where the baby goes: with them, bassinet, whatever... for 'X' amount of months. But I personally use my nursery from day 1. 
I can breastfeed or pump in peace. I have everything I need for any situation. Blowout diaper? Diapers. Wipes. Trashcan. Clothes. All right there... guests are over? I can sneak away to nursery to do what I need with privacy.

We actually put our baby in his nursery when he was a week old because he would NOT sleep. Idk what we would have done if we didn’t have a nursery for him. He likes having his own space. However, we are pregnant again and don’t have a bedroom for this baby and won’t until we move about four months after birth. So we’re making do with more of a nursery corner? And using a closet as his room. I dont plan on ever having my kids sleep in my room.

I wouldn’t say it’s absolutely necessary at the beginning. But I have gone all out on mine even tho I know she won’t be sleeping in there for quite awhile 😂

Yes and no. I didn’t really start utilizing my daughter’s nursery until she was about two months old, because that’s when I could start reading to her, playing with her, etc. She slept sooo much for the first month, we really only used her nursery to change her and dress her. She’s only three months old now and we spend a lot of time in there. She still sleeps in a bassinet next to our bed though until she’s able to roll from belly to back. But I let her nap in the crib during the day now that she’s comfortable with it.
