Late period and pills?

I am on my second pack of combination pills. Sunday was the start of the inactive pills and tomorrow is when I start a new pack. I have not had a period any this week. I took a test late at night on Thursday and it was negative. Me and my boyfriend use the pull out method and sometimes condoms. My aunt said get better test and make sure. She also said don’t start taking the new pills until I get my period just to be sure. Has this happened to anyone? Or what should I do?
