Confused advice please

I’ve been having come and go pain and redness on my vag lips sometimes it just feels raw but it’s come and go for months now 6 weeks after it’d been happening I went to the gyno told me not to worry everything looked normal and got tested just in case those all came back negative too and he said not to worry about the pain what infection does this sound like ? I’m really thinking it is one besides an std when I look inside there is white cottage cheese looking on the inside sometimes and I’m thinking yeast there is itchiness sometimes too and my discharge has a sour bread smell ??
