Advice? I'm honestly not sure what to do

Question

My husband is ALWAYS saying I am a helicopter parent. But, honestly I'm laid back compared to him.  
My husband would happily wrap our son in bubble wrap. Of course, I'm still concerned about our son's safety, it's first priority. I try and prevent injury and if he gets hurt, I  make sure he is ok and comfort him.  
One example is we took our son to this really great farm to play on their playground and do a hay ride. They have these tractors as pictured below. I was going very slow and holding him. Hubby was just so scared he was going to fall or that I would drop him. I'm not trying to say he shouldn't be cautious but, I don't want my son to be scared to do things and explore within reason. 
How do I approach this with hubby?

Just remind your husband that letting a child fall and get back up helps build Confidence. So of course you want to be cautious and safe, but you have to let them do some things and explore on their own without your help or protection￼. This photo, I understand his concern, but I don’t think you were drunk and you look pretty in control here. So he’s allowed to have his feelings, but nothing happened and everything’s OK.￼ Ask your husband to trust you More as a parent. ￼￼

We face this problem with my step daughter. She’s 5 and won’t do anything on her own because her mother shelters her too terribly much. Just be cautious in the things you do but don’t scare your son into thinking he’s going to get hurt for doing the simplest of things.

Sorry but he needs to chill the heck out, you were riding a bike on grass, it’s not a motorized tractor with blades or a lawn mower. First step is talk with the pediatrician with your husband present so he knows reasonable risk activities are good for toddlers to learn and develop their own skills and boundaries. Second get both of you some counseling so there’s less stress and anxiety, kids only get more risky the older they get and you both need to be able to handle that. My oldest son asked to go hang gliding at 6, I told him he had to wait till he was 18. Got his first concussion at 12 falling off a neighbors roof, and plays football at 13. Kids will want to play sports and rough house and try all sorts of risky things.

Another thing too I agree with you in the sense not to project fears on your child because I feel like that’s where some of my fears came from were from my parents

When things like this have come up with my husband, Ive learned to find “short” educational articles that explain different scenarios. I’ve noticed that maybe I’m too straight forward and the fact that it’s coming from me can make him defensive but when it’s a “babe, check this article out about ______(whatever the situation is)” he takes it and puts thought and consideration. We need to make our children confident and secure because unfortunately we won’t be present forever. Good luck!

Me and my husband aren’t really cautious. We don’t shelter our baby. She’s 8 months rn and learning to cruise along the couches and she crawls everywhere. 
I grew up a dare devil. I know my pain tolerance because of that. 
She went on a razor with me during the summer. 
I always say that kids aren’t as fragile as people think they are.
