If you've been to college and withdrew from a class, did you owe money?

This is my fourth year in college. I have always been really good at classes except for my current class in chemistry. I have tried tutoring, reading the book, doing the extra credit. I just don't think I'm going to pass this class. I have a 4.0. I really don't want it affected. I have a scholarship with the school for 13000. A FAFSA Pell grant for 6000 and FAFSA loans of 12000. If am a full time student right now, will I owe money if I withdraw from this class? Have you done something like this? Did you owe anything? If so, how much?

If you drop the class will you drop to part time? That could affect your funding. Talk to your advisor before making any decisions.

There’s usually a withdrawal period where it won’t count against your funding. Past that it would still cost you what you owe for taking the class.

I withdrew within the withdrawal period. My college gave us like 2wks to decide if we wanted to continue ir withdraw from the class without them charging you.

At my school you had until midterms to withdraw from the class and it didn't affect you. You would get a W on your transcript but it wouldnt affect your grades or how much you owed. After that period of time you had to pay.

As others have mentioned, there is usually a deadline. In my experience, the drop option is usually within the first week of classes. After that deadline/drop period ends, you can still drop & take a W, but you'll no longer qualify for a refund.

Only if you didn’t withdraw from the class by the deadline they have in place for withdraws/changing from the class.
