20 follicles! ๐๐ (update #5)
Original post:
Yesterday they only counted 15 follicles, but today they saw 20. Today is CD 11, day 10 of injections.
Estradiol level is 2374 ๐
Largest: 22mm
Smallest: 10mm
Only 5 are below the 13mm threshold....so now Iโm just waiting for a call to see if the dr will want us to trigger tonight, or wait for one more day.
There are plenty more steps to go, but Iโm pleased with these numbers for today.

Update 1:
So we started with 20 follicles, and at the retrieval today we got....20 eggs! Will find out tmrw morning about the maturity level and fertilization, but that is more exciting news. Very pleased with these numbers.

Update 2:
- 15 of our 20 eggs were mature enough for the ICSI insemination
- all 15 successfully fertilized!
Recovery has been eehhh okay. On Wednesday night, the night of the retrieval, my whole digestive system threw a riot
๐ฑ๐ฃ๐ญ๐ญ
It was like full evacuation on all fronts, no bueno. Luckily once my system was clear (nothing left to poop or puke ๐ฌ) Iโve been taking it really easy with all food and drink choices.
I wish they had been more explicit: EAT LIKE A TODDLER, super easy foods, stay basic, beige and boring ๐
Other than that, the heating pad has been my BFF basically day and night, even took it to work with me today. Have felt a bit crampy and bloated, but havenโt needed any other pain meds at all. Spotting is super light. I imagine that by tomorrow and Sunday Iโll just keep feeling better and better.
And 15! I love that number ๐๐ฅฐ
Next step: waiting for the blast count...

Update 3
8 made it to blast! ๐๐๐
Learned a lot about grading in the last few days. We have four AA embryos, two are AB, and two are BB. The clinic weโre working with doesnโt freeze Cโs at all, though I think others may.
5 of them reached blast on day 5, and 3 on day 6 (today). I think they wonโt reach the PGS clinic until the end of the week, and then they say itโll take 1-3 weeks to get the results. Thatโs a wide window ๐ญ but we will continue to be patient!
Our next major concern is about timing. The clinic we use closes for a good chunk of December, and for insurance reasons weโre hoping to do our implanation before then. Weโve already reached our out-of-pocket-max for this year, which means the rest of the procedures we get in this calendar year are covered at 100% ๐ณ๐ but if we have to delay until January, then weโll need to pay the new yearโs deductible and OOP max again really quickly.
So we have to wait for my cycle to start, start birth control in order to control the *following* cycle start date, prime the uterus (I think with progesterone shots? ๐คทโโ๏ธ) and get the PGS results back.....hopefully by early December. Cutting it close!!
But for now weโre happy for the 8 embryos! Good deal, even if its the slowest thing Iโve ever done in my life ๐๐๐

Update #4:
PGS testing came back fast - we have 6!!
3 girls, 3 boys.
Weโll set a plan for an FET with the dr either today or next week.....and hopefully weโll be pregnant by Christmas??

Update 5:
We have a date for the FET! 12/12.
I didnโt realize it would be so long after the retrieval, on 10/16. Weโve been pressing and pressing to make sure there would not be delays due to administrative nonsense (which this office is prone to) but now that we have a date it feels fast somehow.
You get so used to trying and trying and still not being pregnant, itโs exciting/scary that it might actually happen this time.
Also, the dr put valium on the list of prescriptions Iโll need. Our follow up /FET plan appointment isnโt for another week so I donโt have exact details....but when do you normally take valium during this process? ๐คทโโ๏ธ Weโll see...
