help please

i have been on and off my period about every week to every other for about 2 months now. i’ve been on the birth control nexplanon for about 2 -2 1/2 years and my period was very consistent and would only come every two months or every months at the same time. i have had unprotected sex within the last 2 months but i just would like to know if anyone else knows why me period is coming so often. thank you!
