Flu shot??

Question

I made an appointment for my baby boy to get his flu shot tomorrow but my in laws have freaked me out asking why I am getting it for him. I am trying to do some research on it but of course some for it and some against it. What does everyone think? I want to keep my baby protected.

As someone who works in healthcare and has seen people die from the influenza we are definitely all getting it. Even though it may not protect us 100% I will do whatever I can to protect my daughter.

I hate the flu shot as much as the rest of them, but I had my daughter get it, and I will even though I usually don’t. I would rather her be protected. The flu is so dangerous for little babies. I will tell you, it’s the first vaccine she reacted to. Not terribly. There was no fever, but she was very very sore and grumpy.

Go to the cdc website and read a whole multi page vaccine insert for any of the brands of flu shot. ( not the 1 page 8x10 the doctor office gives you.)  search the effective rate of the vaccine for past years. Read and research the ingredients in the flu shot. Read about possibly reactions and side effects. Look up VAERS and the reports filed on just the flu vaccine. We skipped it.

Working I. The healthcare field I definitely see the need for it. After having hospital lock outs for children under 12 because of the severity I would definitely get it. Especially for children who are allergic and can’t get it, herd bad really works.

We got it :) my mentality with the flu vaccine is to be safe rather than sorry. With flu season predicted to hit hard this year, I can’t fathom my LO getting sick if I could have prevented it. He did get a fever and was fussy for a bit but that was about it. He is doing just fine now!

I wont be getting it neither will my child. For one it never works for me i ALWAYS GET THE FLU AFTER I GOT THE SHOT. 
I never got the flu when i didn’t get the shot. just took care of myself .
I will not he putting a live strain of the flu into my baby’s body. 
If he gets the flu he gets the flu builds his antibodies naturally. Obviously we were all fine when we were babies and we didn’t get the shot. 
Also wayyyy too many toxic metals in a shot for such a little baby. 
Not for me personally.
Someone once said it’s not the virus it’s the Terrain. If you take care of yourself you won’t get sick. If you eat a lot of surgary things (lowers your immune system) you will get sick.

Getting it for both the 7 month and 3 year old. They go to daycare/preschool so lots of germs get passed around. 
I'll also get it because I work where we have lots of guests and I mean a lot of guests and some who have come with contagious disease, like the measles, and passed it in to others. So I dont want to bring home anything to them either.

The absolute best thing is to educate yourself. Read up on how the vaccine works to build immunity, and know what to expect. There are so many different opinions and misinformation out there it’s like our whole country is playing a game of telephone 😂
Bottom line is stay away from biased articles, and take opinions with a grain of salt. Taking a few minutes to read up on facts will give you confidence in your decisions as well.

My 6 month old got it. Just extra tired after and maybe sore but no fever from it
