Dehydration?

Jamie

Okay moms, help ease my mind. Sorry this is long.

Since last Thursday/Friday our LO (was 1 on 8/7) hasn’t been eating or drinking as much. She isn’t having as many wet diapers either. She’s still having them, they’re just lighter and longer between. So Saturday, since we didn’t work, we worked with her pushing the sippy with water and she didn’t want much. Just a sip here or there. So, we decided to get pedialyte. We got the strawberry and mixed it 1 part pedialyte to 3 parts water in her 10oz cup. She drank down 2 full ones at dinner Saturday evening. Still didn’t eat much. Sunday rolls around and the same thing. Just sips here and there so at dinner we again have her pedialyte diluted. She drank it, but not as much. Then she has a strange poop before bath time. Strange as in super light brown almost gray ish and like thick cream of wheat consistency. Thought ok weird, but move on. Still not eating well. Monday rolls around and we go back to work. Gma says she didn’t want to drink much and ate decent so at dinner I give her diluted pedialyte again but she only drank maybe an ounce. And, bedtime rolls around and another strange poop, same as Sunday but the smell was atrocious. Pick her up from the sitter a bit ago and she mentions she isn’t wanting to drink and she only had 1 barely wet diaper and that she pooped as well and found it strange she hadn’t peed as well. I explained the poop and asked if it was the same and she said it sounded similar but didn’t think it’s concerning just not normal for our LO. She also mentioned she didn’t eat the best.

The food part I’m watching but not extremely concerned with. She’s eating just not as much as normal—-she’s usually packs it away. Point is atleast she’s still eating, right?

But the wet diapers and poop. I scheduled her an appointment, but we can’t get in until next Tuesday afternoon. I opted in for an earlier of it comes available but it’s a slim chance. Talk me off the ledge of taking her to ER. She IS drinking and she IS eating just not enough (IMO). She IS still wetting, just not normal. The poop—-just the pedialyte, right? (Note—we aren’t giving it to her again). She’s had 2 ear infections already, both of which had zero symptoms. She was seen for something else when they found both. Of the teeth, she has 6 coming in. 1 is a molar that popped through and one still working is another molar. Can it all be stemming from the teeth? We are going to switch out her straw cup for a 360 and see if that helps so if her ears are the issue too. Ugh. We hate that she can’t tell us what’s wrong.
