Bleeding

Hey so I got implant inserted on 1 October 2019. I have been on period for 16 days and counting and I’m hating it. It’s not like heavy it’s just light but super irritating. For my holiday, the doctor reccommended the pill on top of it . My question is , I go on holiday on Friday , will it work or does it take a while. Also , sue to having a long period to begin with , does this mean I’m always gonna have these symptoms on the implant because if so I’ll get it removed , please help Im worried x
