16 month old not talking?!
My DS is 16 months old and he doesn’t say any real words. He babbles, he points, he responds to commands (Bring me the ball, throw the ball, drink some water), so I know he understands. He has great eye contract, responds to his name. But if we’re reading a book, I’ll point to a picture and say “Cow” or “Dog” (whatever it is) and he’ll point and say “Dah” (no matter what it is).
Should I be worried that he’s not speaking more? His daycare buddy (a 16 month old girl) talks so much, and it worries me that he doesn’t seem to be keeping up.
He’s meeting all other milestones (he walks, runs, climbs, gets into everything). Am I worrying over nothing?
Thanks, mamas.
UPDATE - In the last 48 hours, my son has said “shoe,” “snack,” and “cheese” in response to taking a photo. I feel like such a big worry wart over nothing. He’s making me out to be a liar 🤥 😂
