switching from breast to bottle

my baby is about to be 6 months old. i plan for him to have breast milk until 1, but i’d really like to be able to bottle feed him.

i should’ve started pumping sooner, i know, but if i start now how long will it take to have a good enough supply to bottle feed?

(my grandmother says she pumped and breastfed for the first 6 months and then bottle feed for the next 6!)

should i pump and breastfeed for 3 more months, then be able to bottlefeed for the last three? my only fear is losing my milk supply and running out of stored breast milk. i don’t want to supplement with formula but i truly don’t want to breastfeed for 6 more months.

i do enjoy it, and i know i’ll miss it, but i’m nearing the point where i’m ready to stop.

any advice is welcome and needed. thank you!
