Any mommies have an anterior placenta I was told yesterday that I have it.  Was curious if it was a repeat thing bc what I looked up it said it blocked your cervix is that why I couldn't dilate with my son and had to have a section. They never mentioned it to me with my son.

I think you are thinking of placenta previa which is a completely different condition where the placenta is low lying and covers the cervix. With placenta previa it is very dangerous to have a vaginal delivery and most cases require a c section. An anterior placenta simply means along the front wall of the uterus as opposed to back and is perfectly normal. The only difference you may notice is not feeling your baby move as early as it could cushion some of the movements. I had an anterior placenta with my last pregnancy and had a 3 hour labor and delivery.

My first two pregnancies I had anterior placentas and it didn’t effect labour and delivery at all, I laboured an average time (about 25hours) with my first and extremely quickly with my second (under 3 hours from first contraction to birth). It only effected feeling movement and seeing movement from the outside ( when they would kick the whole belly would move rather then being able to see a foot or an arm)

I had it with my first and again this time. I had a c-section due to my sons position he was lying transverse lie (like he was in a comfy hammock. Having an anterior placenta wont affect your cervix as far as I know.

On my second pregnancy and both have had an anterior placenta. My first I held at 3cm dilated for a long time and was given pitocin before having the baby within about four hours so don’t think it made a difference on dilation.

I had an anterior placenta with my second and his labor was quick and easy!
The only thing anterior placenta should change is feeling baby’s movement, a lot of first time mommas don’t dilate fast. It has nothing to do with where placenta is attached. Placenta previa is a whole different ballgame where you would most likely need a c-section.

I do, had it with my first and again with this one. I wasn’t dilating fast when I was in labour with my daughter, about 3cm in 10 hours. I started pitocin around 11:30am that day, and was able to dilate to 10cm and had my daughter at 5:30pm same day. They never mentioned anything about maybe needing a c section due to placenta position.

I had an anterior placenta with my first daughter and I have it again this time, too. I didn’t dilate with my daughter. I was in labor for over 24 hours but just wasn’t dilating, so they had to force it. Didn’t have a c section, though. I thought they would because of how long it was taking, but no. 
If that’s true that because of anterior placenta, it’s harder to dilate, then that’s good info to know! Going to bring that up with my doc at my appt in a few weeks.
