How does a planned c section work?

I have a planned c section, this month how long does the whole procedure take?

My last c section in 2017 was planned,and it went smoothly! Got to the hospital around 7am,they put an IV in my arm,then I just waited until around 8,i walk in the room,sit on the bed and get my spinal,Laid down slowly and babe was born 30 minutes later. 😊

My first was a scheduled c section, once they actually get you into the room, placing the spinal, prepping stuff, doc comes in, husband comes in, then bam baby is there, all takes about 45 min approximately. We got to the hospital at 7 and our scheduled surgery time was 9 but someone was rushed in for emergency surgery so we didn’t end up going  back to the operating room until noon, my son was born at 12:42pm.

The procedure is about 45 minutes but getting you prep and ready with the epidural, shaving you, catheter, and things like that may take and extra 30 to 45 min depending on how fast there moving

My first one was planned, but happened about 2 weeks earlier than originally planned. It took about 45 minutes. It was all such a blur that I had no idea how long it actually took. That is just what they told me it would take.

I am curious to know this. I have had 4 c sections and have yet to make it to my scheduled date lol. I always go into labour a week or 2 beforehand so the process for me has been a little different. 
I go into labour and delivery and they hook me up to monitors for a few hours and check me to confirm I am indeed in active labour. During this they usually get me semi-prepped, IV, lab tests, paperwork etc. 
Then once they agree I'm in labour, I am formally admitted and then I just have to chill out in l&d until both an OR and an OB are available. Often people from your surgical team will come and speak to you about the surgery (anesthesiologist, etc). 
The surgery itself is very easy and fast, only about 15 minutes if there are no complications. Then you are taken to recovery until the spinal wears off, baby is usually allowed to join you in recovery. Eventually you get moved to your actual room where you will stay for usually 3-5 days.
