Do y’all agree with getting married just because you got pregnant?

This has always bothered me, what do y’all think?

I don’t think that’s a good reason to propose but I also don’t think that just because that was the pushing reason, that that means he doesn’t really love the woman. He can still love and genuinely want to spend his life with her. Even if that was a part of his reasoning for proposing

Not for me. I told my husband (was my boyfriend when I got pregnant) that I did not want him to propose just because I got pregnant.... He ended up waiting 2 years to propose lol 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ & second baby before getting married.

No just like I don't believe you should stay in a miserable, toxic relationship for children. I've been that kid in many different ways and it does far worse than having separate households.

I mean people can do what they want. I try not to jusge but it also bothers me that people get married just to have kids. People seem desperate to get married young and have a ton of kids. Ita like some type of check point to make them feel fullfilled or something.

It depends to me. If its only because of the child, i dont think its a good idea because it will likely eventually fall apart and be miserable. But, if the parent both really love each other and already planned on spending their futures together, the pregnancy is just a contributing factor, I think that's okay.

If you planned on getting married yea it’s fine. Some people don’t want kids out of wedlock. Im one of those people. But if it was an accident and i didn’t know if i wanted the guy in my life for the rest of it no.

I understand a lot of people fee that a baby being born out of wedlock is disgraceful but at the same time you don’t want to be stuck in a marriage with someone you’re not inlove with just because you have a child. I know a lot of parents who strictly just co parent and it goes well for them but the ones that I went to high school with that got married just because of the baby are already divorced now and I only graduated 5 years ago 🥴.

Been with SO for over 6 uears anf have a apmost 3 uear old girl...ive been asked since I was pregnant about marrage and ive always said that being pregnant shouldnt mean you have to marry. My SO wants to marry and I dont. Evenatually we will but not right now.
