Lightheaded, Dizzy, nauseous
So recently in the mornings when I drop my daughter off at preschool I’ve been getting dizzy spells and need to sit down outside in the cold air for a bit before I’m okay to drive myself home. A little embarrassed that I’m drawing so much attention from the staff because of this. It’s happened at home a few times but Monday was the first time it’s happened outside of home. I take my daughter and sit with her in the cafeteria so she can eat breakfast then walk her to her classroom and sign her in, all in all I’m there maybe 20-25mins for all that.
Monday it happened when I was in her classroom waiting to sign her in. I felt the cold sweats coming on and sat in a tiny chair for a few minutes before signing her in and rushing outside for some air. The principal and lunch lady were right there making sure I was okay and offering to drive me home. But After about 5 mins of having my head between my knees I felt okay and drove myself home (I only live a half mile away).
This morning it happened again but while I was sitting down with my daughter while she was eating breakfast. Once again I felt the cold sweats coming on and this time instead of just getting lightheaded I got very dizzy, and started seeing spots and started to get like tunnel vision like I was going to pass out if I didn’t get some air. I couldn’t just leave my daughter there though so I put my head between my knees while she finished eating and managed to get her to class. I was still broke out in a full body sweat but the dizziness had passed. On my way out Another staff member who had seen me in the cafeteria asked if I was okay and offered me a ride home. But since it had passed, I felt okay and drove myself home.
I have my glucose test tomorrow afternoon, I tried to get an earlier appointment but they didn’t have any. Anyone know if this is like a symptom of GD? Or what this could possible be? When I was pregnant with my daughter this would happen but only in a moving car, so I eventually had to stop driving. This seems to be happening 45min-1hr after I eat in the morning, though it sometimes happens later in the day too and I usually just go lay in bed until it passes.
