First timer - what should I know/expect?

We have been TTC for 18 months now without success. My husband and I are both 30 and healthy. His semen analysis came back normal and this cycle my doctor is going to do day 3 labs (tomorrow) and a mid-cycle ultrasound (Nov. 5) to make sure I’m ovulating on my own. I don’t have PCOS but do have very mild endo that was just discovered in July and I have regular cycles. 
She told me I can start Clomid as soon as I wanted to. I have no idea what questions to ask about it, what to expect from taking Clomid, if there is a better alternative out there that I should look into? 
I’m looking for any and all advice about this because I am completely uneducated and in the dark about it. Would also love to hear some success stories! Please share whatever info you have! ♥️

There are a lot of side effects of clomid like cramping, hot flashes, and honestly made me crazy....but hey it works I got pregnant on the first cycle taking it after over a year of trying. I say do research on it and if you want to try the clomid just know you can literally work the first time.

I am on my second month using clomid. The first month, I had an ultrasound and had two follicles that were growing nicely. I did not become pregnant though. I’ve had no side effects from it. I’m hoping in the next month or two I’ll get my positive test while using clomid.

I’m a first timer as well and I ovulate on my own. My cycles are on the longer side and I don’t normally ovulate until CD 21. 
We’ve been TTC #2 for 20 months now. All of my tests have come back fine. I guess this is just the next step to see if it works? This is my first cycle taking it and I’m on CD 14. I haven’t ovulated yet. 
When I started taking it and a few days after, I had lots of hot flashes and felt pretty emotional. I haven’t noticed any side effects at all over the last few days thankfully.
