Describe Your Pain
So menstruating isn’t super fun (I’m sorry, I’m not one of those goddesses who loves their period and celebrates their body doing what it’s supposed to do) but last night I was doing my usual thing, making up scenarios and conversations in my head in which I’m totally witty and articulate, and I tried to figure out how to explain to an individual who has never had a period what my pain feels like. The best I have come up with is that it’s like tightness that comes from lifting heavy weight and anticipating the soreness that comes with it. It’s mostly pain coming from a contraction that doesn’t ease off.
Anyone else wanna try? It’s kind of a “misery loves company” thing. Maybe by describing it we could walk a mile in each other’s shoes. Everyone’s experience is different and it could help us be a little more understanding.
