Dresser depth less than diaper changing pad?

I’m having a hard time finding a dresser to use as a changing table that’s both the right height for me and depth for a standard 16 by 32 inch diaper changing pad. I found a dresser that’s the right height but 15.5 inches deep. How important is that half inch?! The dresser length is 47 inches so I’m not worried about that.

The half inch will be fine, especially since, I'd you centered the pad, it would only be a quarter in on each side. If you secure it properly there's no risk of baby falling off. 😊

We have an ikea Hemnes baby dresser and a changing pad from buy buy baby. It’s oval shaped and grey rubbery material with a mobile attached (sorry I can’t remember the name). It fits well on top and doesn’t overhang on either side. 
A small overhang would be fine I’d say.
