TTC after 7 years with Mirena

I’m wondering if anyone has had a long term IUD and can share their experience with me.

I started with an IUD when I was 17 (mom wanted me to be covered because you know...college) I’ll be 26 tomorrow and I got my IUD removed in July. My husband and I have been TTC since then and I am currently in my fourth cycle. I know the doctors say it can take 6 months for your body to adjust after not ovulating for that many years, but it’s still disheartening to keep getting AF.

Can anyone relate to this? Or tell me how long it took after stopping birth control?
