more hair advice :( anything helps!

i have officially decided i’m going to cut my hair instead of messing it up with hair dye all over again. my stylist charges so much for coloring, i can’t afford it:( do you think it’d be rude to ask for shorter length without mentioning covering up the blonde? i truly don’t mind if there’s strands of blonde left in my hair, i just want the damage for the most part GONE. i could easily buy semi-permanent for whatever is left over, i just think this is too much to cover up myself. i’ve been wanting shorter length anyways. pls help. Would this upset her??
