Hcg blood testing?

Hey guys,  
Are doctors obliged to give you hcg blood tests if you ask? Like I'm not high risk but I'd like to have my levels checked to see if there okay for how many weeks along I am ? Can they tell you there not doing it for you or do they have to do it if you ask them to ? Please need advice as going to make a doctors appointment tomorrow?

If you’re not high risk, have history of miscarriage or are bleeding and cramping bad then they don’t have a need to check them until they do the obstetrics panel at 8-12 weeks. 
If you’re already 7+ weeks with no issue so far then it’s safe to assume that levels are ok.

There’s really no reason to do it. Hcg levels are different for everyone at different stages of pregnancy.

Most will only do it if you’ve had a history of miscarriage or previous pregnancy complications. A lot of insurance companies won’t cover it unless there’s a reason to perform one, so even if your doctor does it, you may have to pay out of pocket since it would just be listed as requested by the patient.
Also - you’d have to have 2 tests. There’s a HUGE range for hcg at any point in pregnancy so just getting the number will tell you absolutely nothing. You’d have to get a second test to see if the number is increasing properly because that’s the only thing that actually matters with hcg numbers.

If you request it they should do it. But i didn't have hcg checked this time. At 9 weeks when they did all my labs they tested to confirm pregnancy too but didnt pull hcg numbers (just old/neg)
