What birth control have you guys went on since baby? I’m interested in the implant but I haven’t decided yet.

Copper IUD (paragard). I've tried so many, but I just don't respond well to anything with hormones. I liked the IUD and had it before getting it removed to get pregnant. If you do well with hormones, the mirena IUD is great too. I had that before the copper one and it had the lowest side effects of any hormonal birth control I've tried, and I never got my period for years. IUDs are amazing.

I got the Skyla IUD. It’s the lowest hormone and only lasts 3 years but if we have a second we would want to start trying before then. I didn’t even have cramping or anything after they put it in. I had a paragard IUD prior to this pregnancy for 4 hearts, but I decided to do hormone to have lighter periods.

After I had my second child (nine years ago 😭) I got the Nexplanon. That is the arm insert. It was horrible. Bled for 40 days, then nothing for two months. No consistency. Really fucked with my emotions. Got it taken out after 9 months. Then I was on the regular birth control pill up until I had my third. Only issue I ever had was an elevated BP. Since I am EBF now, I chose the mini pill (progesterone only) So far so good, no change to BP ( which has weirdly been hypotension since I was about 16weeks pregnant). No real period yet either, no acne, and no mood changes.

I haven’t gotten mine yet (due next week) but I plan on getting a Paraguay’s again. 
Had it for six years before we decided to have this baby :) no side effects except a little bit heavier period (using ultra tampons) but only lasting 3-4 days. 
Bad cramps though after they put it in... take Tylenol or ibuprofen beforehand if you get it!! 
It’s also best to put in when you have your period I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️ but I loved mine haha

I just canceled my appt this morning to get the nexplanon implant after reading way too many horror stories. I can’t handle the side effects or risk of them. I was doing fine w the pill before and feel better just getting back in that routine then risking acne, mood swings, irregular bleeding etc
