Induction

Does anyone know if the induction process is easier when already dilated? I’m 2cm dilated (sorry if this is a stupid question, ftm here lol) My ob never said anything about being effaced, just said that my cervix is very soft and that I have a favourable cervix? They be will scheduling induction next Tuesday if she hasn’t come on her own already. I’ve heard mixed stories about inductions so I’m pretty open minded about it, not exactly dreading it. My friend had an induction but was completely closed so she got the foley bulb (I think) and she said it was awful. I forgot to ask my ob about it all and won’t be seeing her until Tuesday, so now I’m curious about it!
