What form of contraceptive do you use postpartum?

I've been cautioned against taking the depo shot because of its side effects, but I'll really like to use a good preventative method. Has anyone had any dreadful side effects?

I use IUD paraguard. It does not have any hormone. So far I like It!

I’m on depo and it’s made me bleed nonstop for 3 months. It’s not even spotting either. I stopped yesterday after getting my second shot and didn’t bleed all day but as I was getting ready for bed I started bleeding again. I keep losing oddly large amounts of hair and I know pp hair loss is a thing but depo can also make you lose hair. It’s affected my moods and mental health a lot. It also causes weight gain. I don’t recommend it but everyone’s different and it depends on how your body responds to it.

Kyleena (low hormone) IUD. 
Still spotting 2.5 months later. Didn’t hurt to have put in, But I imagine I won’t like the removal 😅

Paraguard, like others have said, no hormones so no weight gain or side effects. Only thing I notice is my period will be super light the first day and days 2 and 3 it's heavy every hour and I sometimes have to run to the bathroom. Before it was steady throughout the day. Now it's like heavy at once then light for an hour, then heavy at once, then light again. I'm still getting used to it and I've heard after a few months it will regulate so that's what I'm waiting for.
