36 week ultrasound + placenta looking more aged than it should?

Mc

We did an ultrasound today and baby girl looked really good overall. Her head is SO LOW that my OB couldn’t get a head measurement to help calculate an estimated weight, but he’s guessing she’s an average sized baby. One thing my OB said is that My placenta is looking a little more aged than 36 weeks. Has anyone had this happen? It has more calcium deposits than normal, so we’re doing a follow up ultrasound in 2 weeks to check on it to make sure it doesn’t age more. If it looks more aged by then, we’ll probably have to take her a week or two early just to make sure my placenta doesn’t stop working properly before she comes. I’m just curious if this has happened for anyone else?

No dilation yet, but I’m 80% effaced!
