If your baby has reflux read this!

I posted a few days ago about my baby. She was ebf until the last few weeks. Never had reflux before being switched to formula. She’s been absolutely miserable. Extremely fussy, spitting up constantly and in large amounts, never able to drink more than 1-2 ounces per feeding at over 3 months. Docs had her on Zantac and neocate and were trying to tell me she had a medical problem even though it didn’t exist before being put on formula. I was fed up and worried for her because she couldn’t even sleep through the night from all the coughing and gagging and now projectile vomiting.

I started doing my own research online after reading that neocate is 51% corn syrup and saw some parents recommending Hipp formula from the U.K. The EU (European Union) has stricter rules when it comes to their farms, cows, and what goes into formula. I was skeptical that I would see a difference because the doctors had diagnosed her with a severe cow milk allergy and Hipp is cow milk based formula. It came 2 days ago. She was able to drink a 4 ounce bottle in one sitting which she had never been able to do. She kept it down, didn’t spit up, wasn’t fussy. After one bottle! I didn’t want to get my hopes up so soon and tried to contain my excitement over this until I was sure. Well it’s been 2 days now and she’s drinking 4-5 ounce bottles every 4 hours. Hasn’t spit up more than a teaspoon full while burping, isn’t fussy, gas is less, no more coughing or gagging and she’s sleeping through the night. I haven’t needed to give her Zantac at all. I also tasted the formula out of curiosity and it’s so close in flavor to breastmilk.

She’s been so happy the last 2 days and I’m so glad I was able to find this formula for her and immediately wanted to come on here and share my experience in hopes it might help someone else. There are some online sites that sell it but it’s on the expensive side. I was able to find an online pharmacy in Greece (where I’m from originally) that has the formula at half the price and will ship to the US. I’m sure there are pharmacies/online retailers in other European countries that will do the same.
