Failed Epidural...

Samantha • Sunflower🌻

So I went in yesterday morning at 7am to be induced (Nov 8th) with my second baby. I got into my room and they broke my water and started my pitocin, i labored for about 2 hrs and then decided to get in the bath while i was waiting for my epidural.

Once the anesthesiologist came in and got my all set up I noticed the epidural felt a little to the left in my spine. I told him this and he pulled it out a little bit and pushed it more which still felt a little weird but my though process was "he knows what he's doing" well going on to my 3rd hour of labor, only my left side was numb and I was still feeling everything on my right side. I also could move both my legs, which I couldnt do with my first born.

The nurse comes in and puts me on my right side to let gravity help numb my left side. I was feeling so much pain in my right hip I was punching the bed and cussing and crying and yelling "please just make it stop! I cant take it"

Nurse decides to check me (I was at a 4 after the bath) and I'm at a 9. Next thing I know my doctor is coming in the room and telling me to push to help with the pain. 3 contractions later my beautiful babygirl was born.

I felt everything, it was so intense. Luckily I barely tore and only needed one stitch.

I'm so thankful to finally have my sweet Annie in my arms 🥰🥰 the pain was definitely worth it ❤
