WONT MY KID SLEEP LONGER THAN 2-3 fucking hours at a time?!! It is currently 4am and we’ve prly been up 3-4 times already. Nothing new but let me tell you...I’m getting SO FUCKING SICK OF THIS. 8 months. 8 MONTHS OF COMPLETE SHIT SLEEP. Do I really have to let her fucking CIO for her to start sleeping longer?!! Do I seriously have NO choice?!! Is she freaking begging me to let her cry cz holy hell that is what it seems like. She is my last baby and I didn’t wanna do it. Nothing against it I’m actually jealous of the moms who did n made it thru it I just don’t want to listen to her cry. Seriously you guys tho I’m ready to pull my effing hair out. WHY WONT MY KIDS JUST FUCKING SLEEP. 
Total bullshit. Terrified of having to take her somewhere overnight...like thanksgiving... or Christmas. Both we have to stay the night at my parents ... also makes me sort of wish this time away so I can start sleeping again which SUCKS. 😔😔

I want to be honest with you...we did extinction (CIO) and it wasn’t horrible. I mean it was...but for 40 minutes. And now she sleeps 12.5 hours a night. I would just take the temporary suffering and sleep train. I can’t tell you how worth it it is. You need to be sane.

You need to have some sleep! Is there someone you can give her to for a few hours for a couple of days while you catch up on sleep? Even hire a babysitter to come round for a few hours for a week and go sleep?? Read takingcarababies website she give some good advice without having to spend the money on the actual course or look at her instagram it gave me some good pointers. Otherwise unfortunately I think it just comes down to the baby :( I'm really feeling for you and don't feel guilty about taking the time to look after yourself!!

Baby needs to learn to self soothe. You don't need to do cry it out necessarily, but just remember.. however you put baby down for naps and bedtime is how they'll expect to be put to sleep when they wake up in the middle of the night. My son puts himself to sleep and reaches for his own paci BUT still has the occasional bad night. The other night he woke up and cried no matter what I did. I constantly did check ins. Checked his diaper multiple times, gave tylenol since I suspected it was his teeth, offered water. I won't feed in the middle of the night anymore since he hasn't for months. But It's OKAY to let them cry if all their needs have been met. I'm pretty sure his teeth were bothering him so in this case I did offer comfort. Just start with bedtime and naptime routines first! The wakeups will get easier once they know how to put themselves to sleep at bedtime.

You can always do a more gradual approach if you don't want to do cry it out. It would take a little longer but if you're more comfortable with it then give it a shot. If she feeds to sleep, start with keeping her awake while feeding. Good luck! You both need the sleep, it's so important for your sanity and health and for her development.

The babies sleep REM cycle lasts anywhere from 45 minutes to 3 hours. Once this cycle is over the baby will wake up. They just need to learn to fall back asleep on their own. But if you pick them up and nurse them or rock them or whatever it is you do, then the baby will think that this is how to get back to sleep and that this is what they are supposed to do. Adults wake up as well but we just know how to go back to sleep so most of the time we don’t even realize we woke up at night. Sleep training is tough but being an exhausted mom is tougher!

Mine is right there with you. We wake up easily 3-4 times a night. I've stood over his crib and patted/rubbed/sang to try and soothe him  And it takes over an hour for him to fall asleep. But during the night I can't let him cry like that. 1. I need sleep (full time working mom) 2. My 3 year old would wake up too if I let the baby just cry. 3. I cant stand listening to that much crying. So I pick him up and nurse him. I know it's a bad solution but he is horrible at self soothing

We're starting with the no cry method (where you keep adjusting the last step in your bedtime routine until it's just laying baby down and letting them self soothe to sleep vs rocking/nursing/holding/etc so they know how to go back to sleep independently). I can't stand to hear her cry and I don't want to create emotional distress because I want to sleep. But I'm right there with you! I need to sleep normally again. Soon!

My husband and I purchased a sleep training from Taking Cara Babies and it is amazing! Our little guy has been sleek f through the night since he was 5 months old. Wish we would have done it sooner lol. She has great advice. Your baby will cry some before it gets better, but you are able to go in and check on them however often you feel comfortable.
