Stopped when she was 2 weeks old. Exclusively formula fed at that time. Once I stopped nursing baby and mama stopped crying!

Still going. But boy have we struggled. She had tongue and lip tie. So due to her bad latch she annihilated my nipples. We got her tongue and lip tie fixed but getting my nipples to heal was a challenge. Then once we got through that my supply was shit. We did power pumping and SNS to keep her motivated at breast, and still had to follow up with a bottle of expressed breastmilk after a feed. After all that hard work I think we have made it. She hasn’t had to have a follow up after nursing bottle in almost 3 weeks! Her weight gain has been great and I’m getting 5-6oz when I pump. Don’t give up mamas! The hard work pays off!!!

Sometimes I wonder what I got myself into with breastfeeding, I had no clue how time consuming, mentally draining, and isolating it can be. I’m not sure when I want to stop or when I will be able to. I’m her comfort and she nurses to sleep so I’m terrified of how that transition would go....

Going strong!  We had a little blip due to my LO being diagnosed with breast milk jaundice this weekend, one pediatrician at children’s wanted me to switch to formula.  I consulted with my sons regular pediatrician, my midwife, and an outside pediatrician and they all ended up agreeing my preemie should continue to be breastfed.
