So, long story... I THINK I may have contracted herpes about 4 years ago. I’ve had intermittent symptoms, once or twice a year with some bigger gaps in between. Not typical lesions (hence why I’ve not been tested), more so ‘spots under the skin’ which don’t ooze or pus. However, i know it can appear differently for everyone. When I got the first one I did go to see a doc, but it was healing and he said it wasn’t anything to worry about (wasn’t confident in his assessment though, felt rushed). I’ve now not had any instances of it since maybe January this year...whereby it presented as a cyst like spot completely under the skin on my labia majora, on the inside.

Any who... I’ve fallen pregnant and I’m currently 28wks. I’ve mentioned to my midwife my anxieties and she explained unless a sore is present they cannot test (NHS don’t do the blood tests) and to not worry as if anything comes up in labour they will c-section me. But I am concerned at this approach and I am now considering just requesting a c-section anyway to be on the safe side.

What are your thoughts? Shall I just get a c-section to be safe. I am seeing midwife on Thursday and i’m going to bring it up again.

Experiences of natural birth? Just feel so worried by all of this!!
