Have you ever been told by a doctor you have an ovarian cyst?

I recently found out I have them because one ruptured and I had to go to the ER because of all the pain!
Was wondering if anyone else has had them and if you’ve ever experienced a  ruptured one. They recommended I go on hormonal birth control to try to prevent the cysts from occurring

I have them on my left ovary but never had one rupture. They are very common.

Omg... The absolute worst pain I've ever been in. I used to get them all the time and they'd rupture. I had one surgically removed during a laproscopy that was a bit bigger than a golf ball. Since then, I have been lucky and haven't had anymore.

This was mine, I called her Sabrina. I thought i was pregnant but the scan showed me this. She was a solid dermoid cyst and she weighed 7lb i had her removed in 2010 along with my left ovary. It was like a caesarean. Ive been having a lot of UTIs and pressure in the past 3 years so my doc sent me for a scan and they found a new smaller cyst on my right ovary. Im having it removed next month.

I had a 4cm cyst on one of my ovaries, it was very painful. Was going to have surgery but the gynaecologist put me on the pill and it went away thankfully

Yes I did have one quite a while ago.  I think it was around the size of an orange. It didn’t rupture or anything though.  It actually went away on its own.  I was also recommended birth control.

I had two the size of an orange during this pregnancy. They've gotten smaller now but my entire first trimester was miserable because of the pain they caused.

I had one the size of a walnut that 'twisted' and they initially thought it was appendicitis from how much pain I was in.  Took birth control for the following two years and haven't had issues since.
