Tips for taking meds?

Anyone have any tips to get baby to take her medicine?? She’s always been bad at it, even the stuff they get with their shots. My son always took it wonderfully so never had an issue. My second always spits more than half back at us. She has a double ear infection so needs meds twice a day and it gets EVERYWHERE and to make it worse it’s BRIGHT pink which gets all over her clothes. It’s super frustrating but not sure how to make her take it! Help!

When we needed my son to drink fluids and he refused because he was sick- the ER nurse told us to "fish hook" him. Basically stick your pinkey finger in their mouth - like a hook- and squirt the meds in a little at a time. You cant spit stuff out if you cant close your mouth- so it has to be swallowrd. It sounds barbaric, but it works. Sorry. Hope little miss feels better soon.

They still have that thrust with their tongue if you don’t put it at enough back. Also, if babe takes a soother try squirting a small amount of med towards back of mouth then immediately putting soother in so baby sucks. Should swallow when they realize there’s liquid there. Trick I use at work all the time (nurse).

I put whatever amount she needs in a bottle nipple and let her suck it out of that. Works great.

Are you making sure to slowly dispense it towards her cheek? That's what I've always done, it's kind of a slow process though lol just because they do tend to push it back to the front
