In recent years Italy has faced both economic issues and the refugee crisis, do you feel these problems could be causes of this mindset?

The EU has been hit with a wave of populous 'right-wing' politics, this was reflected in the most recent EU election results.

Do you think these mindsets are systemic?

Within the article it touches upon social media being a causation of this issue, in that society is becoming desensitised to racism, hence why no one overwhelmingly spoke up against racism in the survey. Do you think this is also correct?

Lastly, how do you think Italy should tackle racism and do you think the EU should intervene?
