Anyone waiting til birth to find out the gender?

I had my 20 week scan on Monday where I was expecting to find out whether the baby is a boy or girl. However, the little one had other ideas so the doctor was unable to see! Following that, I've decided to wait til the birth for a surprise, much to the discontent of my in laws. Anyone else waiting til the birth? It's gonna be a challenge because I'm usually a very impatient person!

I’m Irish so here we don’t find out whatsoever. It’s so unusual for anyone to find out. Almost superstitious - not to count your eggs until they hatch as such! Also anyone I work with who’s not from Ireland when they do have the baby no one is really bothered or excited as in ah yeah sure we knew you were having a girl..a boy🤷🏼‍♀️ very few real surprises in life so I think you are so right to leave it and just enjoy your pregnancy. These gender reveals and such make me cringe to think how commercialised its all become. And quite premature to celebrate until baby is here safe and sound. Plus neutral colours are stunning so really whats the rush in finding out. You will love them no matter what 💛👶🏼

We just had our 20 week scan and I told the technician under no circumstance do we want to know. It’s driving a lot of our family crazy to have to wait but I feel it adds more to such an amazing gift!￼

I also have a friend that had 4 boys then was pregnant with her 5th. She was told she was having a girl. They were so excited, decorated a room, bought loads of clothes and named her. Then a couple months later she found out she was having TWIN boys! She was an emotional wreck the last few months of her pregnancy and truly felt as though they had lost their girl even though she was never there. She suffered such bad post partum depression and it took her nearly a year to bond with her twins. I couldn't imagine going through something like that!

We didn't find out with my 18onth old and aren't finding out with this baby either. Currently 21 weeks. Honestly I know too many people who were told the wrong gender and then devastated because they had a whole nursery painted, clothes, name etc. and we're so attached to the baby they had pictured. I also have friends who had major disappointment after finding out because they had hoped for the opposite. I also wouldn't trade the moment I saw my son and got to tell my husband and midwife that we had a boy (I pulled him out of the water and he was facing me so I was the first that saw) it was the most amazing thing ever and I can't wait to find out like that when this baby's born too!

We didn't find out with out with my son and decided to find out this time to do something different. I love my little girl already but finding out at birth was so much more exciting I wish we would have waited, lol.

We didn’t find out with baby #1 and not finding out for this one either.  Everything is neutral anyways from the first time around and its such an exciting surprise in the delivery room!

I’m waiting! We found out with our first so I decided this time around I didn’t want to know! It’s really the only big surprise left in life so I’m so happy I made the decision not to know!
