Ear infections

Baby girl was just diagnosed with her third ear infection and cold/flu season just started. My three year old has tubes because of reoccurring ear infections. Has anyone else had issues this young and at what point did they recommend tubes? Tubes have been amazing for my oldest. I hate giving amoxicillin over and over.
