My fiancé and I went to my 20 week ultrasound which we were super excited for because we get to find out what we are having. I had a tech I haven’t seen before but at first she seemed nice until she had to start doing the ultrasound. She asked me to lift up my stomach ( I was asked before during my past ones then after they spread the gel I can let go) but with this one I had to hold it the whole time which meant I didn’t have arm to rest my head to watch the ultrasound and see my baby. The other techs talked telling us what she was looking at and just having small talk with us but this one never said a word asked am I comfortable and she was also kind of rough. Then she said she had to put me upside down which was extra uncomfortable plus me holding my stomach. I was already annoyed before this and this put the icing on the cake and I just wanted to leave at this point. She then asked if we wanted to know the gender I said yeah ( I wish I said no so I can go home) she then said the baby’s legs were crossed so she can’t see anything but if she was to guess she would say girl. For one I was already pissed at how this whole experience was and now she wants to tell me what she guesses. I didn’t come all the way to this appointment for a guess ( basically a maybe) if my child’s gender. Thank God we wasn’t having a gender revel party or anything because that’s just ridiculous. My fiancé has it in his mind it’s a girl but I want a straight forward answer but I’m now at this point I don’t want to know anymore because of the ultrasound experience and because of her guess. What do y’all think and has anyone else dealt with this. This is mine and his first child and I am sorry for the long post.
