Who do you buy Christmas gifts for?

Do you spend more on certain people? How do you budget? Do you go into debt? My husband and I are trying to be more careful with our money because we are trying to achieve the goal of becoming debt free... very difficult to do this time of year!

I start shopping early in the year. I clearance shop as much as possible. Coupons when I can. I spend spend between $300-1,000. If we can afford the whole family, then I get it. If we cant, we can't. I do not go into debt trying.

We do a gift draw for extended family, so we do our immediate family plus 2-4 gifts that we draw names for

Kids, husband, and nieces/nephews. Only kids get gifts now in our families, bc otherwise it’s just way too much. Although we are talking about doing a white elephant type thing for adults.

This year, I started saving money for Christmas in May. So it didn’t really seem like a hassle or like I was out a bunch of money. I just put back some when I could every month. Now I have all the money I need to buy Christmas! We buy for our 10 nieces and nephews, my parents, my grandma, our two kids, our 3 dogs, my husband and I buy for each other and my little brother in law. We also play dirty Santa at one family gathering. I am also usually in the secret Santa at work. It’s a lot. So I am enjoying the fact that I saved money this year. I’ll do it from now on.

Parents, kids, siblings, a couple close friends. Tend to spend more on immediate family but I don’t have a set amount. If I use any credit, it is minimal

Do not go more into debt trying to get gifts for people. 
I usually get stocking stuffers for my mom and my son, a gift for my son, and then one immediate family member gets a gift (we draw names in my family). And this year I got my boyfriend and his kid gifts too. I spend what I can but I won't go broke or in debt buying gifts.

I only buy for my mum, stepdad, sisters (aged 7&10) grandma and my partner. This Christmas I'll also have a baby that will be a few weeks old. 
I normally spend more on my little sisters than anyone else; because Christmas is mainly for the kids. Baby won't be getting much this year, just things he needs (clothes, bibs ect) and then next year I'll start spending the same on him as I do for my sisters

All the siblings/siblings-in-law do a gift draw, so we are only buying for one person there. $50 limit. Now that there are more kids in the mix we are going to do the same thing between then. 
When I was a student I baked a huge batch of gingerbread cookies and gave those as gifts.
