Baby cries intermittently in sleep?

Hey! Our 3 week old will sporadically cry while taking a nap. Then she stops and goes back to sleep. Then will do it again sometimes 5, 10 or 20 min later. Anyone else’s little one do this?

Yep, all babies do it in their sleep! Good reason to pause a bit before picking them up—often they are dreaming and you’d wake a sleeping baby on accident. I’ve even taken mine down the hall at night to feed him, only to realize he wasn’t awake or needing to be fed yet 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yep, mine also grunts super hard like she’s trying to push a poop out. We’ve been using gripe water and it takes the edge off but doesn’t help completely.

Are you swaddled? Her startle reflex may have scared her.

Yup ! Sometimes he just has one little yelp... Sometimes followed by some gas. Or his pacifier fell out of his mouth and he is not happy about it briefly , but then goes back to sleep.
