My boyfriend went through my phone.. should I be mad?

I fell asleep early and left my phone in the living room. The next morning I noticed some people were blocked on my Snapchat and Facebook messages that were unread had been opened/read. When I confronted him, he lied with a straight face and said he didn’t look through my phone.. I called him out on the read messages and blocked people, he finally admitted that he did it... I asked him if he found anything good and he said no. (I’m not a cheater). He said he did it because everything was going good between us and when things were good in past relationships his ex was cheating on him... I’m fuming mad because I would never go through someone’s phone. I feel betrayed.

I mean it’s one thing to go through the phone but it’s another to block people... he clearly doesn’t trust you

No because if you have nothing to hide then who cares? People go through phones, just because you don’t, doesn’t mean he won’t.

I would remind him that you’re not his ex and you won’t tolerate paying for her mistakes. You expect him to respect your privacy and make a decision to trust you because you haven’t done anything wrong. If he can’t do that, he shouldn’t be in a relationship with you.

That's a deal breaker for me.. he has no right to tell u.. who u can or can't talk to.. he blocked people and wasn't even clever about it.. that's beyond a lack of trust.. that's control over u.

Wouldn’t be mad if I found out they looked. Especially if they were insecure because sometimes that’s not their fault, I get it. But if he is blocking people then that’s a problem. That is controlling

Honestly I wouldve been mad about lying about it more than anything. And then just blocking random people etc. If my husband were to come up to me and just ask to see my phone or go through it (never happens but it's a what if) I wouldnt be bothered at all. I might pick on him a little bit but if hes honest and open with me plus discusses with me if theres something that bothers him I wouldnt mind at all. So just pretty much being sneaky and hiding/lying wouldve pissed me off more than anything.

Girl go through his phone. That's totally what cheaters do in my experience, they act as if you're cheating when in reality its them doing the cheating. Cant hurt to check and give him a taste of his own medicine. Also my hubby and I have an open phone policy, i can look through his and he through mine whenever. That to me builds trust 😊
