Around what age should you stop being persistent for people to wash their hands before grabbing your little one?

Sadie

I really need help. My SO’s family was very upset finding out at first that they had to wash their hands after coming home from the hospital. They have came around to it but they always want to grab my 4month old daughter and touch her face without washing their hands first. So I always have to stay on top of everyone and even had to buy hand sanitizer because some of the family seemed to be on a hand washing strike.😳 Yes I am a first time mom and I am a germaphobe at the moment and I am very protective of my daughter. I’ve been seeing a ton of posts of babies catching rsv leaving them fighting for their lives and most not making it... I just don’t want my daughter being part of the statistics if I can do something about it as simple as having everyone wash their hands first. I also do understand she is bound to get sick at some point but she hasn’t yet and I am very thankful so far. My first thought was 6 months but my friends daughter caught rsv at 6 months since people were not washing their hands. Would I be considered a bad mother if I decided to go a full year before not making people wash? I need some insight on what you guys have done with your little ones. I’m very bothered and I’m not sure what is the best decision to be made...
