HAIR PULLING!! This is how my son nurse and wake up out of his sleep. This video is him being gentle. What can I do to stop this??

I'm a FTM, but what I have done when my son tries to pull on his hair is 1) immediately move his hand somewhere else like my shirt or bra, 2) put mittens on his hands, or 3) just hold his hand and rub his hand.

Omg my son don the same thing.....guess what he is 18 and to this day STILL has a habit of grabbing and or twisting his hair.....im talking bout little spirals everywhere lol

So what you can try, if you haven't already, is redirect his hand to feel something else. My son grabs my bra straps for comfort as I rock him lol. There was one time when he was grabbing my hair and I took his hand and had him feel the fabric on our glider. Ever since then he searches with his hand for the glider behind me and touches that.

Is he hurting himself or pulling the the hair out? My son does this too. It’s just him self soothing. Since he started doing this he’s able to put himself to sleep. I let him do it. It’s not upsetting him and he’s not pulling the hair out 🤷🏼‍♀️
