Anyone ever have mastitis or an infection related to breastfeeding/pumping?

How long did it last? What did you do to treat it? And what did it feel like

I had mastitis once and thrush once. For the mastitis, nothing worked to get clog out. I ended up having to get 3  ultrasonic ultrasounds to get it to break up. Came out like a little hard rock.

I had it like 5 times.  It’s horrible, you feel like you have the flu and also your boobs HURT.  I had antibiotics so many times I ended up with C. diff.  Freaking awful.  I’m 26 weeks with my second and the minute something goes wrong with breastfeeding this time I’m switching to formula.  Not worth it.

I had thrush that went into my breast tissue. It felt like fire when I breastfed. Horrible pain.

I had it while breastfeeding my first 5 years ago.i had a red lump that was painful and the flu symptoms. Seriously was miserable. Had to go get nursing friendly antibiotics from the doctor, warm compress. Etc. Good luck

Well I went immediately to the hospital and got it antibiotics and was hospitalized for 2 days. Wasn’t great. Went from a sorish breast in the morning, tried to work out the clog but had afternoon plans and didn’t manage to get it out by then so I gave up and headed to the plan. About half way thru I started to feel “off” and headed home. Got home and was having chills and a fever, then started shaking and then puking, by the time I got to the hospital I was passing out. I went from a clogged duct to septic in about 8 hours. It was very scary. It happened because I was trying to go from nursing every two hours to every three hours when my daughter was about 14m. I was so nervous of it happening again but I nursed her another 6 months and it didn’t happen again and nursed my son for 14m and it didn’t happen with him at all.
