I just found out that I’m pregnant and called in for a Dr appointment. My first appointment is 12/16 at which point I’ll be going into my 7th week.

I see a lot of women going in for blood test and hcg counts every few days, but my dr office didn’t make any mention about a blood test or pregnancy test. Should I be getting a blood test before my appointment? Should I call back and request this? My dr is located in a major hospital in Chicago, so I’m not sure if large offices operate differently....
