HIV 4th generation test

So I’ve been doing a lot of research because yes I’m a hypochondriac and I’ve learned that learning information about what scares me the most helps me not have bad anxiety and anxiety attacks. So there are three different test you can get a NAT test, antibody test, and a Antibody/ Antigen test. I’ve read so many articles and talked to nurses and doctors (and because I was going to get tested but just to ask.) and the best test right now is the 4th generation test and that is because 95% of the results will be positive at 1 month (or 28 days). It really does pay to understand how big of percentage that is for the folks who are also worried about these questions. The NAT test is used when you have a partner who has expressed they may have HIV or you had a very high risk encounter. It can detect HIV 7-28 days after exposure. The antibody test can detect HIV 18-42 days after a risky encounter.

I know some of you may ask these questions on here a lot and you get the rude responses from people telling you to just get tested and that they aren’t doctors why are you asking them, well because someone may have had an experience that could help ease your mind. Because 9/10 the person has already gotten tested and got their results and is still uncertain or they are waiting for their results. It is never a bad choice to research these things so that you aren’t constantly worried sick about it.
