She likely just doesn't understand how pregnancies are dated. My guess would be she started bleeding 9 days after she got a positive test, or 9 days after her missed period.

At that point it’s considered a chemical pregnancy or failed implantation. The body may have prepared for pregnancy and her HCG may have begun to rise, but it never fertilized to become a viable pregnancy.
