Venting.. I need input??

So my husbands sister is getting married the same day im scheduled for my c cection and everyone keeps pushing the idea of him leaving me in the hospital so he can be at the wedding do you all think im being selfish for asking him to stay with me the 3 day stay

Well that’s his sister getting married, so he should definitely be able to go to that, if only for a few hours. Did you choose to schedule your C sections on his sisters wedding? Because that seems problematic

Ummm no, not at all. I’m sorry, but you will just have had major surgery and you’ll need help lifting the baby. My grandparents couldn’t make it to my wedding because she was hospitalized. I didn’t make a big deal about it because she couldn’t help it. They will get over it. Period.

Can you change the csection for the day after? They can be flexible. Unless a medical issue.

They (his sister) should’ve expected that there was a possibility he couldn’t attend knowing your due date. He needs to be there for you and your baby. If his sister doesn’t have kids she probably won’t understand but when she does she will. Your husband may be missing from the wedding pics but it’s only because it’s the day his little one was born!

You and baby are now his family and come first before any other family. It’s his sister, but you are going to have a major surgery and will need him. He also will miss out on babies first few hours/days. Those moments are important for bonding with dad and baby. I don’t think it’s selfish. Things happen unfortunately.

No it’s not being selfish. But if you have a choice of date or there is a way of him being able to go for the ceremony say (if it’s really local) that could be something to consider. But ultimately health of you and baby comes first.

No, not selfish at all. That's very inconsiderate of them to even ask him to leave you in the hospital alone. I get that it's his sister, but you are his wife that has had surgery/a baby 🤔 how could they not find that a reason to miss the wedding?
